Timothy J. Ley is a renowned American physician and researcher known for his significant contributions to the field of hematology. He currently serves as the Lewis T. and Rosalind B. Apple Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Timothy J. Ley obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He then pursued further training in hematology and oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. Ley's research focuses on the genetic basis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and other hematologic malignancies. He has made significant discoveries in the field, including identifying key genetic mutations that drive the development of AML.
