Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is a hospital and teaching hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It is a founding member of the Mass General Brigham health care system, formerly known as Partners HealthCare. BWH is closely affiliated with Harvard Medical School and is one of the leading hospitals in the United States in biomedical research.

The hospital's history dates back to 1832, with the founding of the Boston Lying-In Hospital, one of the nation's first maternity hospitals. In 1913, the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, a facility dedicated to providing medical care to the poor, was established through a bequest from the estate of Peter Bent Brigham. In 1969, the Boston Hospital for Women, a merger of the Boston Lying-In Hospital and the Free Hospital for Women, was established. The Brigham and Women's Hospital was formed in 1975 through the merger of three of Boston's oldest and most prestigious hospitals: the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, the Boston Hospital for Women, and the Robert Breck Brigham Hospital.
