Tishreen University

Tishreen University is a prominent public university located in Latakia, Syria. Established on 20 May 1971, the university has grown to become a key institution for higher education in Syria, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various fields of study. Tishreen University is named after the Arabic word for October, commemorating the October War of 1973.

History

The foundation of Tishreen University marked a significant expansion in the Syrian higher education system. Initially, it started with the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, aiming to cater to the educational needs of the northern region of Syria.
