The University of Colorado (CU) is a public university system in the state of Colorado, United States. The system comprises four campuses: the Boulder campus, the Colorado Springs campus, the Denver campus, and the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.

The University of Colorado was established in 1876, just a few months before Colorado became a state. The first campus, located in Boulder, opened its doors in 1877. Over the years, the university expanded to include additional campuses in Colorado Springs, Denver, and Aurora.
