Walt Disney Pictures is an American film studio and a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, which is itself a division of The Walt Disney Company. The studio is known for producing a wide range of films, including animated and live-action movies.

Walt Disney Pictures was founded by Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in 1923. The company was later renamed The Walt Disney Studio and then Walt Disney Productions before becoming Walt Disney Pictures in 1983.
