Yael German
Yael German (born 4 August 1957) is an Israeli politician who served as the Minister of Health from 2013 to 2014. She was also the Mayor of Herzliya from 1998 to 2013. German is a member of the Yesh Atid party.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Yael German was born in Haifa, Israel. She attended Tel Aviv University, where she earned a degree in History and Political Science.
Political career[edit | edit source]
Mayor of Herzliya[edit | edit source]
German began her political career as the Mayor of Herzliya in 1998. During her tenure, she focused on urban development, education, and environmental issues. She served as mayor until 2013, when she transitioned to national politics.
Minister of Health[edit | edit source]
In 2013, German was appointed as the Minister of Health under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During her time in office, she worked on various healthcare reforms, including efforts to reduce waiting times in hospitals and improve public health services. She served in this role until 2014.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
German is married and has children. She continues to be active in public service and advocacy.
