Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed (born October 31, 1984) is an American physician, politician, and public health expert. He is a member of the Democratic Party and has been involved in various political and public health initiatives.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
El-Sayed was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Egyptian immigrant parents. He attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and political science. He later received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Columbia University and a Doctor of Philosophy in public health from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.

El-Sayed has worked extensively in the field of public health. He served as the Executive Director of the Detroit Health Department, where he focused on improving health outcomes for the city's residents. His work in Detroit included initiatives to address lead contamination, improve maternal and child health, and combat chronic diseases.

In 2018, El-Sayed ran for the Governor of Michigan as a Democratic candidate.
