Albert C. Geyser
Albert C. Geyser (1897–1973) was a radiologist and medical inventor known for his contributions to the field of radiology. He was the founder of the Geyser Radiator Company and the inventor of the Geyser Technique, a method of radiation therapy for cancer.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Albert C. Geyser was born in 1897 in New York City. He attended Columbia University, where he received his B.A. in 1918 and his M.D. in 1922. He completed his residency in radiology at Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Career[edit | edit source]
After completing his residency, Geyser founded the Geyser Radiator Company. The company specialized in the production of radiation therapy equipment. Geyser's most notable invention was the Geyser Technique, a method of radiation therapy that involved the use of a catheter to deliver a high dose of radiation directly to a tumor. This technique was revolutionary at the time and is still used in some forms of cancer treatment today.
Geyser was also a prolific writer and researcher. He published numerous articles in medical journals on the subject of radiology and radiation therapy. He was a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
