The Bankstown Lidcombe Hospital was established in 1996 following the amalgamation of the Bankstown and Lidcombe hospitals. The hospital has undergone significant expansion and redevelopment over the years to meet the growing healthcare needs of the local community.

The hospital offers a comprehensive range of services including emergency, general medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and intensive care medicine. It also has a cancer care centre that provides chemotherapy and radiotherapy services.

The hospital is affiliated with the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University, providing clinical training for medical, nursing and allied health students. It is also involved in various clinical research projects to improve patient care and outcomes.
