Developed by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, the series first aired on September 5, 1992, and concluded on September 15, 1995. It is known for its thematic complexity, darker tone, artistic quality, and modernization of its title character's crime-fighting origins.

Production[edit | edit source]

The series was produced by Warner Bros. Animation and originally aired on the Fox Kids network. The creators, Timm and Radomski, aimed to create a cartoon that was cinematic and appealed to a wide age range. They drew inspiration from 1940s film noir and used a distinctive art style, now referred to as "Dark Deco," which was developed by Radomski.
