Cave Divers Association of Australia
Cave Divers Association of Australia (CDAA) is a diving organization that was established in 1973. The CDAA is responsible for the management and conservation of underwater caves in Australia. The organization also provides training and certification for cave diving.
History[edit | edit source]
The Cave Divers Association of Australia was founded in 1973 by a group of divers who were passionate about the exploration and conservation of Australia's underwater caves. The organization was established in response to the increasing number of accidents and fatalities associated with cave diving. The founders of the CDAA believed that through proper training and certification, the risks associated with cave diving could be significantly reduced.
Training and Certification[edit | edit source]
The CDAA offers a range of training courses and certification levels for cave divers. These include the Basic Cave Diver course, the Advanced Cave Diver course, and the Cave Diving Instructor course. The organization also offers a Cave Diving Rescue course, which is designed to equip divers with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform rescues in underwater cave environments.
Conservation[edit | edit source]
In addition to providing training and certification, the CDAA is also actively involved in the conservation of Australia's underwater caves. The organization works closely with government agencies and other conservation groups to protect these unique environments from damage and degradation. The CDAA also conducts regular clean-up dives to remove litter and other debris from underwater caves.
Membership[edit | edit source]
Membership in the Cave Divers Association of Australia is open to all individuals who have an interest in cave diving. Members of the CDAA have access to a range of benefits, including access to CDAA-managed caves, discounts on training courses, and the opportunity to participate in conservation activities.
