Chen Zhu (born August 17, 1953) is a prominent Chinese hematologist and molecular biologist. He has made significant contributions to the field of medical science, particularly in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Chen Zhu has also held various important positions in the Chinese government and academic institutions.

Chen Zhu was born in Shanghai, China. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the Shanghai Second Medical University, where he earned his medical degree. He later obtained his Ph.D. in hematology from the Paris Diderot University in France.

Chen Zhu's career has been marked by his groundbreaking research in the field of hematology. He is best known for his work on the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). His research led to the development of a highly effective treatment regimen that combines all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) with arsenic trioxide, significantly improving the survival rates of APL patients.
