Chronic laryngitis
Chronic Laryngitis is a persistent inflammation of the larynx, also known as the voice box, which lasts for more than three weeks. This condition is a type of laryngitis and is often caused by long-term exposure to irritants such as smoke, alcohol, and acid reflux.

The most common causes of chronic laryngitis include:
- Tobacco smoke
- Alcohol abuse
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Overuse of the voice
- Chronic sinusitis
- Allergies
- Certain medications
- Infections such as tuberculosis or syphilis

With appropriate treatment, most people with chronic laryngitis can expect a good prognosis. However, if left untreated, chronic laryngitis can lead to complications such as vocal cord nodules or laryngeal cancer.
