Cifran

Cifran is a brand name for the antibiotic drug ciprofloxacin, which belongs to the class of fluoroquinolones. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including those of the skin, lungs, airways, bones, and joints.

Cifran works by inhibiting the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are necessary for the bacteria to replicate and repair their DNA. By inhibiting these enzymes, Cifran prevents the bacteria from growing and multiplying, thereby stopping the infection.
