Development of the human body
Development of the Human Body is a complex process that begins at conception and continues throughout the lifespan. It involves a series of stages, including embryonic development, fetal development, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and senescence.
Conception[edit]
Conception is the fusion of a sperm and an ovum to form a zygote. This process occurs in the fallopian tube of the female reproductive system. The zygote then begins to divide and grow into a blastocyst, which implants itself into the uterus.
Embryonic Development[edit]
Embryonic development is the period from the second week to the eighth week after fertilization. During this stage, the embryo undergoes rapid growth and differentiation. The organogenesis, the process of organ formation, begins during this stage. The neural tube, which will become the central nervous system, and the heart begin to form.
Fetal Development[edit]
Fetal development begins at the end of the eighth week and continues until birth. During this stage, the fetus grows and matures. The organs continue to develop and the fetus begins to move.
Infancy[edit]
Infancy is the period from birth to one year of age. During this stage, the infant grows rapidly and begins to develop motor skills, cognitive abilities, and social-emotional skills.
Childhood[edit]
Childhood is the period from one year to the onset of puberty. During this stage, the child continues to grow and develop physically, cognitively, and socially.
Adolescence[edit]
Adolescence is the period from puberty to adulthood. During this stage, the individual undergoes rapid physical changes, including sexual maturation. Cognitive and social-emotional development also continue during this stage.
Adulthood[edit]
Adulthood is the period from the end of adolescence to old age. During this stage, the individual reaches physical maturity and continues to develop emotionally and socially.
Senescence[edit]
Senescence is the period of old age. During this stage, the individual experiences a decline in physical and cognitive abilities.
