Eduardo Pazuello (born 19 August 1963) is a Brazilian military officer and politician. He served as the Minister of Health of Brazil from 16 May 2020 to 23 March 2021 under the administration of President Jair Bolsonaro.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Eduardo Pazuello was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He joined the Brazilian Army in 1984 and graduated from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy.

Military Career[edit | edit source]

Pazuello has had a long career in the Brazilian Army, where he achieved the rank of General. He has held various positions within the military, including roles in logistics and operations.

Minister of Health[edit | edit source]

Pazuello was appointed as the Minister of Health on 16 May 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. He succeeded Nelson Teich, who resigned from the position. Pazuello's tenure was marked by controversy and criticism over his handling of the pandemic, including issues related to vaccine procurement and distribution. He was succeeded by Marcelo Queiroga on 23 March 2021.

Pazuello is known for his military background and has been a prominent figure in the Brazilian Army. He continues to serve in the military.
