Emmanuel College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay, it has a long history of academic excellence and notable alumni.

Emmanuel College was established on the site of a former Dominican priory. Sir Walter Mildmay, the college's founder, was a prominent statesman and Chancellor of the Exchequer under Queen Elizabeth I. The college was intended to be a place of learning and religious education, reflecting Mildmay's Puritan beliefs.

The college's architecture is a blend of traditional and modern styles. The original buildings, including the chapel and the Old Library, were designed by Ralph Symons.
