Emmanuel College, Cambridge
Emmanuel College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay, it has a long history of academic excellence and notable alumni.

Emmanuel College was established on the site of a former Dominican priory. Sir Walter Mildmay, the college's founder, was a prominent statesman and Chancellor of the Exchequer under Queen Elizabeth I. The college was intended to be a place of learning and religious education, reflecting Mildmay's Puritan beliefs.
Architecture[edit | edit source]
The college's architecture is a blend of traditional and modern styles. The original buildings, including the chapel and the Old Library, were designed by Ralph Symons. The chapel, completed in 1677, was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. In recent years, the college has expanded with new buildings, including the Queen's Building, which houses lecture theatres and student accommodation.
