An Endocrine Tumor is a mass that forms in the tissues of the endocrine system, which includes the thyroid, adrenal gland, pancreas, and parathyroid glands. These tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).
Types of Endocrine Tumors[edit | edit source]
There are several types of endocrine tumors, including:
- Thyroid Tumors: These tumors form in the thyroid gland, located at the base of the throat. They can be either benign or malignant.
- Adrenal Tumors: These tumors form in the adrenal glands, located on top of the kidneys. They can be either benign or malignant.
- Pancreatic Tumors: These tumors form in the pancreas, located behind the stomach. They can be either benign or malignant.
- Parathyroid Tumors: These tumors form in the parathyroid glands, located in the neck. They are usually benign.
