Extrapyramidal symptom - Extrapyramidal symptoms are a group of side effects that can occur as a result of taking certain medications, particularly those used to treat psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. These symptoms can include muscle stiffness, tremors, and problems with movement and coordination. Extrapyramidal symptoms can be managed with medications called anticholinergics, and in some cases, a change in the medication regimen may be necessary.
