Fresh Pond, Queens is a neighborhood located in the borough of Queens in New York City. It is part of Queens Community Board 5 and is known for its diverse population and rich history.

Fresh Pond was named after a former fresh water pond, around which the early settlement was built. The area was initially inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans, who were later displaced by European settlers in the 17th century. The neighborhood grew rapidly during the 19th century due to the development of the Long Island Rail Road.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Fresh Pond is bordered by the neighborhoods of Ridgewood to the west, Glendale to the south, Middle Village to the east, and Maspeth to the north. The area is primarily residential, with a mix of single-family homes, multi-family homes, and apartment buildings.

The neighborhood is known for its diverse population, with a significant number of residents of Polish, Italian, German, and Hispanic descent. The area also has a growing Asian population, particularly from China and Korea.
