The Harvard Rugby Football Club (HRFC) is the collegiate rugby union team of Harvard University, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The club was founded in 1872, making it one of the oldest rugby clubs in the United States. The HRFC competes in the Ivy Rugby Conference and is a member of the New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU).

The Harvard Rugby Football Club was established in 1872, initially playing a form of rugby that closely resembled association football. The club played its first match against McGill University in 1874, which is considered one of the first rugby games played in North America. This match is often cited as a significant event in the development of both American and Canadian football.
Competitions and Achievements[edit | edit source]
HRFC competes in the Ivy Rugby Conference, which includes other Ivy League schools such as Yale University, Princeton University, and Dartmouth College. The club has a storied rivalry with Yale Rugby, with their annual match being one of the highlights of the season.
The club has also participated in various national tournaments and has produced several players who have gone on to represent the USA Rugby national team.

The HRFC trains and plays its home matches at the Roberto A. Mignone Field, located within the Harvard Athletics Complex. The field is equipped with modern facilities to support the training and development of the team.
