Holland Hospital

Holland Hospital is a non-profit hospital located in the West Michigan lakeshore area. It was founded in 1917 and serves the greater Holland area and surrounding communities in Ottawa and Allegan counties. The hospital has a 189-bed main campus with over 300 physicians and a staff of 2,000, including 550 registered nurses.

History

Holland Hospital was established in 1917 by Dr. Kremers in his own home. Over the years, the hospital underwent expansions to accommodate the growing number of patients. In 2000, the Lakeshore Medical Campus was opened on Holland's north side, housing Urgent Care and other departments and physician practices. In 2007, a 90,000-square-foot expansion added a new and expanded emergency room, intensive care unit, Special Care Nursery, and cardiac rehabilitation facility. In 2010, Holland Hospital opened the Holland Hospital Medical Building in Zeeland, providing medical services to residents and workers in the area.
