The list of national independence days includes the dates on which countries around the world celebrate their independence. These days often commemorate the nation's liberation from colonial rule, the establishment of a sovereign state, or the unification of a country. Independence days are typically marked by celebrations, parades, and national ceremonies.

Many African countries celebrate their independence days in the 20th century, following the decolonization period after World War II. For example, Ghana was the first sub-Saharan African country to gain independence from colonial rule on March 6, 1957.
