Jerusalem sage

Jerusalem Sage (Phlomis fruticosa), is a species of flowering plant in the Lamiaceae family, native to the Mediterranean region. It is a popular ornamental plant in gardens and parks due to its attractive yellow flowers and evergreen leaves.

Description[edit | edit source]

Jerusalem Sage is a small shrub that typically grows to a height of 1-1.5 meters. It has grey-green, woolly leaves that are arranged in opposite pairs along the stem. The leaves are oval in shape and have a distinctive sage-like aroma when crushed. The plant produces clusters of yellow, hooded flowers in the summer, which are attractive to a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies.
