Lion is a leading food and beverage company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. The company operates in both Australia and New Zealand, and it is one of the largest food and beverage companies in the region. Lion is a subsidiary of Kirin Holdings Company, Limited, a Japanese multinational corporation.

Lion was originally established as Castlemaine Brewery in 1878 in Brisbane, Queensland. Over the years, the company expanded its operations and underwent several mergers and acquisitions. In 1985, Castlemaine merged with Tooheys Brewery to form Castlemaine Tooheys. The company was later acquired by Lion Nathan in 1990. In 2009, Lion Nathan was acquired by Kirin Holdings Company, Limited, and the company was rebranded as Lion.
