History

In 1985, Castlemaine merged with Tooheys Brewery to form Castlemaine Tooheys. The company was later acquired by Lion Nathan in 1990. In 2009, Lion Nathan was acquired by Kirin Holdings Company, Limited, and the company was rebranded as Lion.
