Locust Manor, Queens is a neighborhood located in the borough of Queens in New York City. It is part of Queens Community Board 12 and is situated in the southeastern part of the borough.

The area now known as Locust Manor was originally settled by the Dutch in the 17th century. The neighborhood's name is believed to have been derived from the locust trees that were once abundant in the area.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Locust Manor is bordered by Jamaica to the north, Rosedale to the east, Springfield Gardens to the south, and South Jamaica to the west. The neighborhood is primarily residential, with a mix of single-family homes, multi-family homes, and apartment buildings.

Transportation[edit | edit source]

Locust Manor is served by the Locust Manor station on the Long Island Rail Road's Far Rockaway Branch. The neighborhood is also served by several bus routes operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Education[edit | edit source]

The New York City Department of Education operates public schools in the neighborhood. Locust Manor is also home to several private and parochial schools.
