Lok Nayak Hospital is a premier hospital and medical teaching institution located in New Delhi, India. Named after the freedom fighter and social leader Jayaprakash Narayan, often referred to as Lok Nayak, the hospital is one of the largest government-run hospitals in the city. Lok Nayak Hospital was originally established in 1936 as Irwin Hospital, to commemorate the visit of Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India. In 1977, it was renamed Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP Hospital) in honor of Jayaprakash Narayan's contributions to the Indian independence movement and his efforts towards social reform.
