Norwood is a town located in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of Norwood was 28,602. The town was named after Norwood, England. Norwood is part of the Greater Boston area.

Norwood was first settled in 1678 and was officially incorporated in 1872. It was named after Norwood, England. The town has a rich history that includes the American Revolutionary War and the Industrial Revolution.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Norwood is located at 42°11′9″N 71°12′5″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 10.6 square miles (27 km2), of which, 10.5 square miles (27 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (0.94%) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 28,602 people, 11,623 households, and 7,380 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,727.0 people per square mile (1,053.0/km2). There were 11,945 housing units at an average density of 1,139.5 per square mile (440.3/km2).
