PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is a 450-bed community hospital located in Vancouver, Washington. The hospital, founded in 1858, is part of the PeaceHealth System.

In 2010, PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center had approximately 114,000 emergency department visits, 27,000 in-patient visits, and 3,000 child births. The emergency department is the busiest in the region north of San Francisco, and the birth center is the second busiest obstetrics unit in the Portland metropolitan area. The hospital's sleep center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The cardiovascular rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The hospital is also a certified stroke center.

The hospital was founded by Mother Joseph Pariseau and is the oldest hospital in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, originally named St. Joseph Community Hospital, was founded in 1858 by Mother Joseph Pariseau. It has since grown to become a leading healthcare provider in the region.
