Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (born September 24, 1989), formerly known in the Philippine entertainment and modeling industry as Pia Romero, is a Filipino-German actress, model, and beauty queen who is best known for being crowned Miss Universe 2015. She is one of the four Filipinas to have won the Miss Universe title.

Pia Wurtzbach was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany to a German father and a Filipino mother. She grew up in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. Wurtzbach attended secondary education at the ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila. She later studied culinary arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Wurtzbach began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of 11 under the screen name Pia Romero. She appeared in various television shows and movies in the Philippines. She was managed by ABS-CBN's talent agency, Star Magic.

Wurtzbach joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant three times before winning the title of Binibining Pilipinas 2015. This victory earned her the right to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

On December 20, 2015, Wurtzbach competed in the Miss Universe 2015 pageant held in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. She was crowned Miss Universe 2015, marking the Philippines' third win in the history of the pageant. The crowning moment was notable due to a mix-up by host Steve Harvey, who initially announced Ariadna Gutiérrez of Colombia as the winner before correcting himself and declaring Wurtzbach as the rightful titleholder.
