Provera

Provera is a medication that is part of the progestin class of drugs. It is primarily used in the treatment of menstrual disorders, endometriosis, and amenorrhea. Provera is also used to prevent endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women who are receiving estrogen replacement therapy.

Provera is used in the treatment of several medical conditions, including:

  • Menstrual disorders: Provera can be used to treat abnormal uterine bleeding caused by hormonal imbalance. It can also be used to treat secondary amenorrhea, a condition where a woman stops having menstrual periods.
  • Endometriosis: Provera can be used to reduce pain and decrease the size of endometrial implants.
  • Amenorrhea: Provera can be used to treat amenorrhea, a condition where a woman does not have menstrual periods.
