Rakesh Kapoor
Rakesh Kapoor (born 1958) is an Indian businessman who served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Reckitt Benckiser, a multinational consumer goods company, from 2011 to 2019. Kapoor is known for his strategic leadership and contributions to the growth and development of the company.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Rakesh Kapoor was born in India in 1958. He completed his undergraduate studies in chemical engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Kapoor later earned an MBA from the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) in Jamshedpur.
Career[edit | edit source]
Kapoor began his career at Reckitt Benckiser in 1987, holding various positions in marketing and management. He played a significant role in the company's expansion into emerging markets and the development of new product lines.
CEO of Reckitt Benckiser[edit | edit source]
In 2011, Kapoor was appointed as the CEO of Reckitt Benckiser, succeeding Bart Becht. During his tenure, Kapoor focused on driving growth through innovation, acquisitions, and expanding the company's presence in health and hygiene products. Under his leadership, the company acquired Mead Johnson Nutrition in 2017, a major player in the infant formula market.
Kapoor announced his retirement in 2019, and he was succeeded by Laxman Narasimhan.

Rakesh Kapoor is married and has two children. He is known for his philanthropic efforts and contributions to various charitable organizations.
