Silchar Medical College And Hospital
Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) is a government-run medical college and hospital located in Silchar, in the state of Assam, India. Established in 1968, it is one of the premier medical institutions in the North-Eastern region of India.

The foundation of Silchar Medical College and Hospital was laid in 1968 with the aim of providing quality medical education and healthcare services in the region. The college was initially affiliated with Gauhati University and later with Assam University in 1994.
Campus[edit | edit source]
The campus of SMCH is spread over a large area and includes various departments, hostels, and a hospital. The college has a well-equipped library, laboratories, and lecture halls. The hospital associated with the college has a capacity of 610 beds and provides healthcare services to the people of Silchar and nearby regions.

SMCH offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical and paramedical disciplines. The college is affiliated with Assam University and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
