Simon Majumdar
Simon Majumdar is a British-born food and travel writer, broadcaster, and author. He is best known for his frequent appearances as a judge on the Food Network's series, Iron Chef America and Cutthroat Kitchen. Majumdar has also authored several books, including "Eat My Globe" and "Fed, White, and Blue," which chronicle his food and travel experiences around the world.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Majumdar was born in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. His father, a doctor from India, and his mother, a nurse from Wales, instilled in him a love for food and travel from a young age. He attended the University of Sussex, where he studied History.
Career[edit | edit source]
After a career in book publishing, Majumdar decided to follow his passion for food and travel. He embarked on a "Go Everywhere, Eat Everything" journey, which he documented in his first book, "Eat My Globe." This journey took him to over 30 countries and allowed him to sample a wide variety of cuisines.
Majumdar's second book, "Fed, White, and Blue," follows his journey to American citizenship and explores the diverse food culture of the United States. In addition to his books, Majumdar has written for numerous publications, including The Guardian, The Times, and Bon Appétit.
As a broadcaster, Majumdar has appeared on several Food Network shows, including Iron Chef America, Cutthroat Kitchen, and The Next Iron Chef. He is known for his insightful and often humorous critiques of the chefs' dishes.

Majumdar currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, Sybil Villanueva. They co-host the podcast, "Eat My Globe," where they discuss food history and culture.
