Urogenital System

The Urogenital System is a part of the human body that is responsible for the creation and expulsion of urine and the reproduction process. It is also known as the genitourinary system. This system is made up of two subsystems: the urinary system and the reproductive system.

Urinary System[edit | edit source]

The urinary system, also known as the renal system, consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. It is responsible for filtering out waste products and excess substances from the bloodstream, which are then expelled from the body as urine.

Kidneys[edit | edit source]

The kidneys are a pair of bean-shaped organs located towards the back of the abdominal cavity. They filter the blood to remove waste products and excess substances, which are then converted into urine.

Ureters[edit | edit source]

The ureters are tubes that transport urine from the kidneys to the bladder.

Bladder[edit | edit source]

The bladder is a hollow organ that stores urine until it is expelled from the body.

Urethra[edit | edit source]

The urethra is a tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body.

Reproductive System[edit | edit source]

The reproductive system is responsible for the process of sexual reproduction. It includes the gonads, which produce sex cells, and various other organs that provide a pathway for the transport of these cells.

Male Reproductive System[edit | edit source]

The male reproductive system includes the testes, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate gland, and penis.

Female Reproductive System[edit | edit source]

The female reproductive system includes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, and vulva.
