Veronika Igorevna Skvortsova (born 1 November 1960) is a Russian neurologist and politician who served as the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation from 21 May 2012 to 15 January 2020. She is known for her contributions to the field of neurology and her role in the Russian government.

Veronika Skvortsova was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. She graduated from the Russian National Research Medical University in 1983, specializing in neurology. She later earned her doctorate in medical sciences.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
Skvortsova began her medical career as a neurologist, focusing on stroke treatment and neurorehabilitation. She has published numerous scientific papers and has been involved in various research projects related to neurology.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
In 2008, Skvortsova was appointed Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation. On 21 May 2012, she was appointed as the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation by President Vladimir Putin. During her tenure, she implemented several healthcare reforms aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of medical services in Russia.
