Wolf's Law is a principle in orthopedics that states that bones will adapt to the loads under which they are placed. This concept is named after the German surgeon Julius Wolff, who first described it in the 19th century. According to Wolf's Law, if loading on a particular bone increases, the bone will remodel itself over time to become stronger to resist that sort of loading. The internal architecture of the bone will change, and the external cortical portion will become thicker.
