From WikiMD's Wellnesspedia

5-Methoxy-N,N-diisopropyltryptamine (5-MeO-DiPT), also known as Foxy Methoxy, is a psychedelic and hallucinogenic drug. It is part of the tryptamine class of drugs, which also includes substances like psilocybin and DMT.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

5-MeO-DiPT is a synthetic compound of the tryptamine class. Tryptamines share a core structure comprised of a bicylic indole heterocycle attached at R3 to an amino group via an ethyl side chain. 5-MeO-DiPT is substituted at R5 of its indole heterocycle with a methoxy (MeO) functional group CH3O−; it also contains two isopropyl groups bound to the terminal amine RN of its tryptamine backbone (DiPT).

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The pharmacology of 5-MeO-DiPT is not fully understood. It is thought to act primarily as a serotonin agonist, specifically at the 5-HT2A receptor. This receptor is involved in the regulation of a variety of functions in the brain, including mood, behavior, and sensory perception.
