Darko Milinović (born 25 April 1963) is a Croatian physician and politician who served as the Minister of Health and Social Welfare from 2008 to 2011. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Darko Milinović was born in Gospić, a town in the Lika-Senj County of the Socialist Republic of Croatia, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He completed his primary and secondary education in Gospić. Milinović graduated from the University of Zagreb's School of Medicine where he earned his degree in medicine.

Medical Career[edit | edit source]

After completing his education, Milinović worked as a physician in Gospić. He specialized in gynecology and obstetrics, contributing significantly to the local healthcare system.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

Milinović's political career began with his involvement in the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). He held various positions within the party and was elected to the Croatian Parliament (Sabor).

Minister of Health and Social Welfare[edit | edit source]

In January 2008, Milinović was appointed as the Minister of Health and Social Welfare in the government led by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader. He continued to serve under Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor until December 2011. During his tenure, Milinović focused on healthcare reforms and improving the efficiency of the healthcare system in Croatia.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Darko Milinović is married and has children. He continues to reside in Gospić, where he remains active in both his medical and political careers.
