Long Island Jewish Forest Hills

Long Island Jewish Forest Hills is a teaching hospital located in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. It is part of the Northwell Health hospital network and is affiliated with the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The hospital offers a residency program in internal medicine and also hosts a podiatry residency program.

The hospital was originally opened as Forest Hills General Hospital on August 13, 1953. However, it was closed in November 1963 due to a financial scandal involving a Blue Cross billing scheme. It reopened in 1964 as LaGuardia Hospital under the management of HIP (now EmblemHealth). In 1996, it was acquired by the North Shore health system and renamed North Shore University Hospital at Forest Hills. In 2006, the hospital was renamed Forest Hills Hospital. Finally, in 2016, it was renamed Long Island Jewish Forest Hills after being approved to operate under the Northwell Health network.

With 312 beds, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills provides private healthcare services as a non-profit institution. It is known for its commitment to medical education and research, offering training opportunities for medical professionals.
