Los Angeles County is located in the southern part of the U.S. state of California. As of 2020, its population was over 10 million, making it the most populous county in the United States. The county seat is the city of Los Angeles, which is also the largest city in the county and the second-largest city in the country. The county is home to more than one-quarter of California residents and is one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the U.S.
