Luis Solari de la Fuente (born 28 December 1948) is a Peruvian physician and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Peru from 2002 to 2003 during the presidency of Alejandro Toledo. Solari is a member of the Peruvian political party Peru Possible.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Luis Solari was born in Lima, Peru. He studied medicine at the National University of San Marcos, where he earned his degree in 1974. He later specialized in internal medicine and public health.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Solari had a distinguished career in medicine. He worked as a physician in various hospitals in Lima and was involved in numerous public health initiatives. He also served as a professor at the National University of San Marcos and other medical schools in Peru.

Luis Solari was appointed as the Minister of Health in 2001 by President Alejandro Toledo. During his tenure, he focused on improving the healthcare system in Peru, particularly in rural areas. He implemented several programs aimed at reducing child mortality and improving maternal health.
