Mars, Incorporated is an American multinational manufacturer of confectionery, pet food, and other food products, with $33 billion in annual sales in 2015. It was ranked as the 6th largest privately held company in the United States by Forbes. Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, United States, the company is entirely owned by the Mars family.

Mars, Incorporated was founded by Franklin Clarence Mars in 1911. The company started as a candy business in Tacoma, Washington. The first product, the Milky Way bar, was launched in 1923. The Snickers bar, now one of the world's best-selling candy bars, was introduced in 1930.

Products[edit | edit source]

Mars, Incorporated produces some of the most popular confectionery in the world, including M&M's, Snickers, Twix, Skittles, and Starburst. The company also produces non-confectionery snacks, such as Uncle Ben's Rice and Dolmio pasta sauces.

In addition to food products, Mars, Incorporated is a significant player in the pet food industry, producing brands such as Pedigree, Whiskas, and Royal Canin.

Mars, Incorporated has made commitments to sustainable sourcing and reducing its environmental impact. The company is a member of the World Cocoa Foundation and has pledged to source all its cocoa sustainably by 2020.
