Şahika Ercümen

Şahika Ercümen (born October 16, 1985) is a renowned Turkish free-diver, underwater sportswoman, and dietitian. She holds multiple world records in various categories of free-diving and is recognized for her contributions to the sport on a global scale.

Ercümen was born in Çanakkale, Turkey. She developed an interest in water sports at a young age, which led her to pursue a career in free-diving. She studied at the Ege University in Izmir, where she graduated as a dietitian.

Ercümen began her professional free-diving career in 2006. She has since set several world records in the Variable Weight and Constant Weight categories. Her achievements include a 110-meter dive in the Variable Weight category in 2011 and a 91-meter dive in the Constant Weight category in 2016.

In addition to her free-diving career, Ercümen is also a dedicated advocate for the protection of marine environments. She has participated in numerous campaigns and initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving marine ecosystems.
