Brandy Alexander
Brandy Alexander is a cocktail that is made with brandy, cream, and crème de cacao. It is a variation of the earlier, gin-based Alexander.

The Brandy Alexander first appeared in print in Hugo Ensslin's 1916 book "Recipes for Mixed Drinks". The cocktail gained significant popularity in the 1920s and 1930s, and has remained a staple in the cocktail world ever since. It is often served as a dessert cocktail due to its sweet and creamy nature.

To prepare a Brandy Alexander, one part of brandy is mixed with one part of crème de cacao and one part of cream. The ingredients are shaken together with ice and then strained into a chilled cocktail glass. The drink is traditionally garnished with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

There are several variations of the Brandy Alexander. The most common is the Alexander, which uses gin instead of brandy. Another variation is the Coffee Alexander, which includes a shot of espresso.
