George Canyon (born Frederick George Lays, August 22, 1970) is a Canadian country music singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known for his hit singles and his participation in the second season of the Nashville Star talent competition.

George Canyon was born in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, and grew up in the small community of Fox Brook. He developed an interest in music at a young age and began performing locally.

George Canyon's music career took off after he competed in the second season of Nashville Star in 2004, where he finished as the runner-up. This exposure led to a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
