Ping An Insurance

Ping An Insurance (also known as Ping An of China) is a Chinese holding conglomerate whose subsidiaries mainly deal with insurance, banking, and financial services. The company was founded in 1988 and has its headquarters in Shenzhen.

Ping An Insurance was founded in 1988 by Ma Mingzhe, who also served as the company's CEO and Chairman. It was the first insurance company in China to adopt a shareholding structure. In 2002, it became the first Chinese insurer to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Ping An Insurance operates through three main businesses: insurance, banking, and investment. The insurance business includes both life and non-life insurance services. The banking business is conducted through Ping An Bank, a subsidiary of Ping An Insurance. The investment business includes securities, trust, and asset management.
