Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari is a public medical college located in the Lyari neighborhood of Karachi, Pakistan. It was established in 2011 and is named after the late Pakistani politician and former Prime Minister, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

The idea of establishing a medical college in Lyari was conceived to provide quality medical education and healthcare facilities to the underprivileged population of the area. The college was officially inaugurated in 2011 by the then President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.

Campus[edit | edit source]

The college is situated in the heart of Lyari, one of the oldest and most densely populated areas of Karachi. The campus is spread over a significant area and consists of several buildings housing classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and administrative offices. The college also has a state-of-the-art teaching hospital, named Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Accident & Emergency Centre, which provides medical services to the local community.

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari offers undergraduate medical education leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The college follows a comprehensive curriculum approved by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical training, with emphasis on clinical skills development.
