South East England is one of the nine official regions of England. It is the third largest region in terms of area and the most populous, with a population of over 9 million people. The region includes the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and West Sussex.

Geography[edit | edit source]

South East England is bordered by Greater London to the north, East of England to the northeast, South West England to the west, and the English Channel to the south. The region features a diverse landscape that includes the South Downs, the North Downs, and the Chiltern Hills. The River Thames flows through the northern part of the region.

Economy[edit | edit source]

The economy of South East England is one of the strongest in the UK, with significant contributions from sectors such as finance, technology, and tourism. The region is home to several major companies and business parks, particularly in towns like Reading, Slough, and Milton Keynes. The presence of Heathrow Airport and proximity to London also contribute to the region's economic strength.
