James H. Quillen College of Medicine is a renowned medical institution associated with East Tennessee State University, situated in Johnson City, Tennessee. The college has been named in honor of Congressman Jimmy Quillen, who ardently championed the cause for the inauguration of a second public medical school in Tennessee. Initially, it was introduced as the ETSU Quillen-Dishner College of Medicine, but in 1989, Dr. Paul Dishner's name was removed, solidifying its current designation.
